It’s not something a tutorial can help you with, sure a tutorial could help you make a particular logo , but are all your logos going to look the same using this tutorial? making logos is something you learn and develop through years of studying and practise.

Generally logos are created in illustrator due to the rescalablilty and sharpness of vector graphics that illustrator creates. Logos can later be put into photoshop to be “jazzed” up. Like many companies have 3 to 4 logos , all based on the same topic, just variations in appearance , such bevel, 3d effects ect… they would always have a eps or vector version of the logo while using the jazzed up versions for promotional advertising and such.

A logo can be in many shapes and forms, generally accompanied by a font that reads the company name. Its usually best to create a logo that calls apon some aspect of the company, if not directly by the name of the company ( such as a company named
“time ahead” and they use a illustration of a watch) it also could be indirect which would be like something that is involved in the companies service (say a pizza shop where the companies name is “Serve them Hot!” could show a illustration of a pizza cutter, but this is not directly linked with the name of the company, though still shows some aspect of the company.)

My advice is to rent a book out on logos and / or search around and look at the company logos out there.

:::: On aligning graphics , iam not too sure on what you mean by that, but if your saying that you would like to align say two different graphics or something in illustrator you have the align pallette found in Window/ View/ show align.

With this tool you Select the things you want to align, (shift select to select multiple objects) and click on one of the 4 alignment tools, either left justfied , center, right , there are other fancy ones but the three mentioned before are something you can work with.

Even if i didnt answer your question :stuck_out_tongue: i probably didnt, i hope you take something from what i said, being in graphic design for about 5 years now, i hope i could pass some of what i know to others.

Thank u and im using illustrator and photoshop.
