I am currently working in flash 5 and need to add my clients showreel in to the flash movie. Can I do this if so how
is this for a projector or online?
Flash 5 doesnt support video, but there are 3rd party applications that allow you to add video to projectors. I believe www.flashjester.com has one, and If Im not mistaken theres another one with the name along the lines of “video in flash” - though no doubt a search will shed light on that.
in terms of the web, the best thing to do is pop up the movie in a new window and play it there. Alternatively, you could export your movie as a series of still frames with the audio as a seperate file, then load those frames into a flash movie to create an image sequence, with the audio attached as a streaming sound to get the same effect as video in flash only… well only its just pictures and sound. You wont get the same compression that certain codecs offer but its a tatic that was commonly used in flash 5 for the inclusion of small video animations
