Here is a big problem I’m having with one of my client’s flash site. There are two files, the index_animation.swf (52kb) and the resale_homes.swf (135kb). My client is telling me that no matter where he attempts to view his website - home , office, mom’s computer, friends computer - it loads slower than snails ****ing. I can’t seem to figure out why such a small file 177 kb loads so slowly, especially since he is on a cable modem???
Is there anyone out there who might be able give me some insight into this problem? Please take a look at his site and give me your feedback.
are you talking about http://www.hutchingsrealty.com ?? it works fine for me …maybe flash isn’t installed on the computer he is trying to view the sites from… sometimes when i clear all the cookies and wipe all internet related stuff it wipes flash player as well and i have to redownload it to view flas and during that time it takes forever to load anything until the “install Flash” popup comes…takes like 4-5 min sumtimes for me
sorry but this is not anything related to the problem u asking abt.
but me just think if u add hidden buttons behind all those text links might make it easier to navigate~~
Thanks for replying to my post. Yes, I was talking about Hutchings Realty. Not sure what the problem is then. It loads fine for me too? Can I ask you a couple of questions? How fast did the site load? Did you hear the music? Were there any other problems you may have noticed. Would you please write me back and let me know. I would appreciate it.
Kelly, I’m not 100% sure on this but I think it could be the music that is lagging the site’s loading time. I noticed that the music started first then the preloader actually appeared. I also noticed that the preloader wasn’t working either. It displayed 100% even though the site was still loading and the totalbytes displayed 69538 which does not correspond to any of the sizes you stated in your post so you might want to check your preloaders. Same goes for all the sections you have, all of them have preloaders with the same thing. I hope that is the problem, sorry I can’t offer a better explanation. :-\
thanks for the reply. I have to say, I’m not quite sure what you mean. I know there are text links, but there are buttons next to them that link the same as the text?
Obviously you went and looked at the site, but did it load fast or slow? Did you hear the music or were there any other problems? Please let me know.
Thanks for your reply. I understand what you’re saying, but would it affect the load time if the mp3’s are being loaded dyanmically??? Maybe I could send you a file and have you inspect it for me. Who knows maybe you could find something I may have overlooked. Please let me know.
