RvGaTe (www.rvgate.nl) and I have just created a flash chat for Grunge by Porpous. It allows one to chat with other users real time in the footer area. Other then me bugging RvGaTe, he did all the hard work (days and days of coding) because I bugged him a lot :b:.

 So everyone, if you want, try it out. Be sure to visit [www.rvgate.nl](http://www.rvgate.nl/) and appreciate all his other work ;) (hehe... I owe him one). 
  
 Ps. dont spam it, or try to use someone elses username/type theirs in.

pps (or pss…) if you guys ever want to change your sscreen name or add an away message like porpous2(browsing forums)… use this link http://www.rvgate.nl/kirupa/setusername.php?username= and then refresh the chat page a few tmes… it might take a minute… but then your username will be earased and you can change it.

Update: It is now no longer on the footer, but under the header! tell Rvgate and I if you like it or not!
Update: Sounds and a reset button were added.

Update:the chat is no longer ONLY on grunge by porpous, but on Light by porpous!!!

update!!!: The chat is also on Undead by Porpous, and i still have other versions that i havent submitted… i dono, im just lazy.

yeah the server had a minor problem for 30 secconeds… you must have tried during that time.

ok, status: it went down 2 times for no reason, dont know, cant fix this, but it seems stable now.

and please pplz, read before you hit enter :slight_smile:
some guys just start out chatting, the first time you enter the chat, you will need to put in your username, if you can read :wink:

if you are a guy who did this: please click =HERE= to reset your username, then refresh

Just a suggestion, you should put in functionality so that it checks the username you put in (put a password field too…) against the MySQL DB (isn’t that what VBulletin uses?) that contains the users and their passwords.

we do have IRC chat btw - and its pretty lively at night.
nice work on the program though.

I cant use IRC because the installer hangs up on my PC for MIRC, and Trillian’s IRC support sux.

eilose… yeah we tried to make it so that it would log you in in the kirupa username… but after many hours and hours of trying, it would not work, so rvgate, me, and especially kirupa got agrivated… so we had to do it like this. Most people are on around 6 or 7 hours from the time i posted this… (or yesterday most were… 5-10).

also… the people here are trustworthy enough that they wouldnt do that… also this way you could change your username to porpous(sleepy) and stuff like that.

Well if it evolved enough you could make away messages… heck, if it evolved enough you could make a seperate chat program, KirupaIM!
