New splash too :)

the 3d stuff on the splash took me around 10 minutes, reflection and shadows was done in photoshop, the rest added in flash.

for the main page (ball drop), I used a rendered silver sphere and used it for reflection too, added the shadow in flash also.

took me an evening to finish :slight_smile:

Why do the reflect in Photoshop? If your using a shadow material for the floor, just add some raytrace.

I know morse, I tried that first, but I couldn’t get the exact reflection I wanted, so I just did it in PS instead :slight_smile:

plus I wanted that special shadow effect too…

Wow, really nice splash page, and I do love the way the ball drops down, that’s really smooth. btw, are you sure you’re not kirupa in disguise? =) was just gonna ask: how did you do the reflection btw? did you take another render shot of the letters from below the horizon, then flip them etc?

Search for “reflections in Photoshop” on phong or some photoshop site (look in the links sticky) :slight_smile:

i haven’t seen your site before and i think the splash is really really nice!

the reflection and metal texture work very nice together.
