Nintendo is flying me to NYC to demo Wii Fit

Nintendo is sending my wife and I to NYC this Sunday to demo Wii Fit (US version) to the media, videogame community, and others.

Nintendo called me and FINALLY acknowledged my “Wii Sports Experiment” that I concluded last January. I had a book in the works with a write from Men’s Health, literary agent, and publisher, but Nintendo of Japan nixed it…:bored:

Maybe they felt bad when they saw me on the same page as Miyamoto in TIME magazine, or when they used my video during E3 when they announced Wii Fit (below), or when Reggie said that Wii Fit was inspired by people like me using Wii Sports for fitness… Whatever the case is, they’re flying Diana (The Wife) and me, Mickey (hey_suburbia) to NYC. We live in Philadelphia, which is 80 miles away, but they said flying will be easiest (It’s an hour car ride). We’ll then be picked up at Laguardia Airport in NYC by a Limo and brought to our hotel room at the Le Parker Meridian Hotel for the night. They even hooked us up with a spa treatment to boot.:yoshi:

The demo will be from 10am to 11am on Monday (3/17/08), I’ll have a live feed of the event (assuming there is WiFi), if not I’ll have video/pics/ and more shortly after. Nintendo has also been kind enough to set me up with an early copy of Wii Fit and encouraged me to do a “Wii Fit Experiment”, where I’d do a 6 week workout with Wii Fit and track my results. This time around I plan on adding weights, but I still won’t change my eating habits.

After the demo we get to ride the Nintendo limo back to the airport and a free trip home. Absolutely amazing.
