Finally read this thread. All i’ve got to say is they both have purposes. If you integrate, you’ve got the best of both worlds.
Oh and, wants wrong with SimpleBits? Looks kinda good

404’D!!:red:
The most profitable and high traffic websites are not Flashed-up. Look here: http://www.alexa.com/site/ds/top_500
You ladies are unbelievable
You have some valid points but you can use XML or TXT files outside of Flash and those can be searched by the seach engines.
check again guy. I screwed up the link when I typed it in.
could someone show me a “good looking” or even “remotely interesting” CSS site - cuzzz, i don’t think i’ve ever seen one.
:stunned:
Did you look at the www.csszengarden.com link posted earlier? Lots of “remotely interesting” things done with CSS.
To respond to the general thread, I think the most rational consensus here is to use the right tool for the job. I’d venture that anyone that proclaims either approach as “stupid” is missing the point.
Ditto.
I don’t see flash sites working on many mobile or simple browsers.
I don’t see flash sites delivering informative content quickly, efficiently and economically.
I don’t see flash sites delivering large quantities of information.
I don’t see flash sites being usable with the browser or being as easily dynamic as sites crafted with CSS styling.
Oh yeah, and I think you might want to remove nokrev from the title considering he’s not alone on supporting CSS, there are many here who support it.
CSS and Flash sites are different and for different target audiences.
funny you should say that - we have a user (now mod ) here named ditt0 that is the css queen. Her personal website I think is very tasty and done in css.
But you see, I can point out just as many disadvantages for CSS. Two different mediums. I think it’s kind of pointless to argue about which is superior.
Exactly what I said. Why didn’t you quote the rest of my post? ahaha
Oh it just seemed you were a bit biased, thats all.
Flame war, Flame war, Flame war!
I apologise if this outburst was incorrect, I only read the post title and the first entry.
Well… I’ve missed 3 whole pages of battleground! Grabs CSS sword “Die flash developers, die!”
Well not, I don’t hate flash that much, but again its like the Windows Vrs. Mac agrument. Windows doesnt make hardware does it?
you’ll find a bunch here.
Oh and please you guys dont make this so personal…I think it is agreed that each serve a purpose. The problem lies in the designer that doesnt know that purpose.

ddd edit - removed your quote, lets not make it personal
Is he trying to promote himself, or rather Flash development? I don’t see him attempting to brag. But if it’s simply high-quality flash work you are wanting to see, I’m sure you can find plenty from awards sites, etc.
