Not true. Most end users just want to read things, or buy things on the internet, and they don’t want to have to wait for their content.
I assume by ‘users’ you mean end users.
And last time you quoted me, you missed out the rest of that sentence;
[whisper]I don’t mean to come across arrogant in this post.[/whisper]
Also, threads that have already been discussed and are ‘Ordered-like’ are usually closed before the same things are discussed over. (And tempers flare once more)
Believe me, we’re keeping a close eye on it. To be honest, I’m surprised it has gone on this long. I mena, 6 pages? Of what? Pointless banter IMO. I’m sort of hoping interest in it just dies and it goes away . . .
Hey, I just do what the client tells me. If they want flash I give them flash. If they want CSS and no flash, I’m happy to do that too. I don’t think flash is overused, maybe I just don’t surf enough. But saying that the web is just for fast access to info is wrong. Many sites are all about building a certain atmosphere or environment for users to experience. I think flash is a great way to obtain those.
IF that was directed to me then you should read my post again, i said its prime purpose in my opinion is to provide quick access to information…prime purpose, secondary to that is advertising(what i call animated brochure) type sites that sells a product or service. Quite obviously the internet is more than just the “information superhighway” that it used to be and i quite agree that flash has it’s place in the internet to provide user with “more interactive experiences” but the bare basics of the web is still to provide information to the user, for example, rss feeds, blog’s, forums etc…
that was listed on http://www.cssbeauty.com/ for its nice CSS - but the top image and nav are flash. so yea they used the right tools for the right bits.
^ whats nice about that site other than it being a very nice design is that if you take away the css and the flash you still have a functional website. Check the source you will notice there is a text based nav there additional to the footer nav.
