O whata night, dear Abby

the story you are about to read is true, and I didn’t bother to change the names :shrugs:
Last night, I was looking forward to a good sleep and a quiet saturday to follow… I had dropped my wifes mother and brother (who live with us) off for a weekend visit with my sister in law, Our daughter & her boyfriend/fiance’ and her two kids (also living with us - another looong story) had announced that they had tickets to the State Fair and would be all gone aaaaaalllllll Daayyyyyy ! :stuck_out_tongue:

Shortly after midnight, everyone else was in bed and I was ready to shut it all down and turn off the lights when the phone rang - it was my daughters best friend and co-worker - crying hysterically.

she: “I didn’t know who else to call - incoherent semi-english, quivering wailSob~wailSob

me: “wh-what’s going on, are you allright ? where are You ?”

she: (what I could extract) “I woke up in a field, no purse, no car, no boyfriend [David] …and I can’t find one of my shoes !” …
" Last thing I remember, David and I were at a friends had a couple glasses of wine - and then I woke up in a field all alone"…
“then I wandered towards some lights off in the distance and found a shop where some guy was working late and he let me use the phone”

me: “where ?”
she asks ‘the guy’ and a voice in the background answers her, she shakily reppeats the address to me

I recognize this area as an indusrtial complex adjacent to farm land

me: “Stay there, call 911, I’ll be there as quick as I can !”

methinks - carJacking?, drug n’ kidnap/robery?, somethin’ equally awfull

I arrive 20+ min’s later after breaking nearly every traffic law written to find a dozen or two police vehicles - some roaring around the area streets, helcopters in the air over the adjacent open spaces w/spotlights, Paramedic ambulance roaring out of the parking lot … Hoo-lee-sh!t… :stunned:

I pull in and (after being surrounded and my ID scrutinized) I talked to the seargent in chg., tell him what I knew from her call - yadayada - he tells me the name of the Hospital (she complained of head pain and had a lump @ the base of her skull) and off we :run: (wife was with me).

At the hosp., tests-tests-tests-xrays, etc … no apparent real damage …
no drugs - ??? still no one knows what happened
Release,
we take her home with us as it is now 5 am and she has no house keys,
all go to bed

I wake up this (late) morning to an empty house (evidently all was resolved while I slept) except for the ‘victom’ who is now on my phone to her mother crying and relating what she found out to be the answer to the night of mystery …

whaHappened ? … she drank alot more than ‘just two glasses of wine’ at this friends house and while driving back home on a back road went berzerk, pulled over & beat up David (he’s got the black eyes to prove it), jumped out of the car, ran into the fields screaming & losing one shoe.

David it seems tried to chase her, lost her in the dark and returned to the car and drove up and down the road looking for her - off in the distance he sees a car stop and then resume - about where he last saw her - and assumed she hitched a ride he went home and went to bed.
Loooosy, jue got sum splainin’ to doooo

…She insists that the wine be analyzed (it was home-made) :sure: … this never happens to her ! :!: … why is she at my house making these calls now she has her car & keys back ? …evidently David wants to be alone now … well so do I…

“Shauna, :scream: go Home!”

…yes, my house is empty and it’s quiet right now … but I’m too hung over :hangover: from the nights excitement to enjoy it :m: … and plus the ‘crowd’ will be back before ya know it !

Abbey, can you tell me: " Is it ok to shoot someone like this or shall I watch n’ wait for the Karma squad ??? "

…numb minds wanna know… < /Ramble >

hm…interesting story. at least nothing bad happened to her.

Rev

yeah at least it wasnt a drug/rape/robbery type of thing. and everyone (but david) are ok. still sorry to hear you had such a scare. must have been awful :frowning:

that’s one wild story…it’s relieving that nothing bad happened to her but it really sucks that it ruined your weekend.

just another reason to never start drinking

-teet

yeah for way too many … drinking == evile

…I am really relieved that she’s ok, but I don’t wanna hear about having the wine getting ‘tested’ :sure:

I’d much rather hear “OOPS… I Fuss’t of Mucked up !”…“Sorry”

…I’m feeling a bit better now … =)

Rev … you couldn’t’ve said it better

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear about all that.
It is considered morally and socially alright to bust a cap in someone’s ***.

make sure you scrub behind your ears…

Rev
