Let’s Be truthful who’s not going to get out(High School) this year because of some stupid MATH exam?
I graduated high school because I studied hard and anything I didn’t get I stayed after school to go over the material with my teachers.
All it takes is a little extra effort I hated school, so there was no way I was going to let myself slip up and get held back for a whole year, so it was worth the work.
i thought i was going to fail my math exam. it turned out i didnt even finish it, but i did enough of it to pass. luckily, i knew how to do a bunch of problems, so i didnt have to leave too many blank.
Well i did study LOB LEB…if you lived in New York New Jersey area you would know why i’m asking they say our test were the hardest of all states so…:-\
If you’re talking about like the math portion of the state graduation exam, it shouldn’t be too bad. If you need to study for it, just talk to your math teacher and I’m sure (s)he’ll help you.
Just make sure you don’t check online for answers to the test. Since most states use the same test each year, you would prob. find the answers. So make sure you don’t do that, cause that’d be cheating.
Math definitely didn’t hold me back in high school. as a matter of fact, i don’t think it ever did. i was always a chum for math, since grade school. i started algebra in the 2nd grade, and flew past all my math classes after i moved to a different school. received a 5 on the AP calculus AB exam in senior year of high school. i got my first Cs in a math class in college. must’ve been the whole “freedom” concept :-.
as for your test, just study the equations, drill yourself, and just memorize techniques to doing problems.
What kind of test was this? A citywide test?
I know during my senior year of high school I had to do a multidisciplinary research project that consisted of a 12 page report using books and online sites as sources. We had to write it as a college paper, citing works and having a complete bibliography to be checked. Once our reports were checked by the school and graded we had to set up an entire presentation that we had to give in front of a group of teachers. Then if that wasn’t enough we had to write a reflective essay about why we chose the subject we chose, what we learned, and what our process was of getting information and writing on the subject.
If we didn’t pass this project we failed senior year and had to redo the grade and the project.
Honestly… I think I would of preferred an exam, but that’s just my opinion
What college you go to thoriphes, and you aren’t still in college, are you?
If you don’t mind me asking, which math class was it?
i go to virginia tech. and the classes i got Cs in were strangely enough, Calculus and Linear Algebra. with the former class, i totally bombed one of the tests (49 i think). each test consisted of about 6-7 problems and there’s barely partial credit. and to add, your entire grade in that class consisted of 3 tests and a final. now with the latter class, i simply didn’t care because i had to travel all the way off campus just to take the class. i even missed an exam (1 of 3). luckily my other grades pulled me up.
Are the HS graduation tests really that hard? These are the same tests that the NAACP is pissed about, right?
are you a math major thoriphes? i know you have to be some kind of math/physics major or minor if you’re taking linear algebra.

ooo I didnt know thoriphes was a Hoakie! :beam:
I m so happy there are somany maths haters here like like me, i somehow completed school, then college and thn mba(marketing)All my life i hated maths, math is one of the reason i m scared to start action scripting… i was just so disappointed to see the use of math in flash
I didn’t try and I graduated

In my area “Math” doesn’t exist… it is now “Maf”, it’s quite annoying when people replace TH with F… the sounds are nothing alike! but that’s how it is here :run:
lol, in certain areas of london (;)) you get people saying ‘mafs’ - aaaaaaaaargh!
I slept all through highschool and still received very high marks. Math is not a difficult thing to understand. It does take some people a little extra effort to understand but it should never hold you back in school.
Highschool math is easy. Wait til you hit Calculus…
s! S! SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! :beam:
there is no “s” at the end of the word. Its Mathematics, not Mathsematics. If you english people are going to shorten, then dam it shorten it right!
