One More Thing

Under each file it shows the file type as some wierd thing its call
rngfile

what did you do right before this happened?

and why don’t you want to reboot?

Rev

well, there are multiple viruses that cause this problem

f you have norton, try booting from the norton disk

What i did was oh I downloaded somthing from kazaa then I restarted my comp Cause it goes slow once ina a while.

But the files werent one

sounds like you got a virus mang. Have fun and good luck.

Just delete the file you dl’ed through my computer. That should stop it. If not, Norton Antivirus boot disk.

If you are using Windows XP or ME, restore back to a few days when your computer worked properly.

yeah i do have Xp

but the Restore Thing Dont open.

restart, while bootingup press f8 and choose restore computer to last know configuration should work or try booting up in safe mode and deleting the file and running system restore good luck

Icky.

  1. Don’t use Kazaa.
  2. Listen to them, get Norton.
  3. Good idea to not restart, that often is the downfall’s beginning.
  4. Just start backing up stuff if you can, see if you can get into the windows MS-DOS.
  5. Risky, but restart and go into Safe Mode.
  6. Risky, restart, go into DOS mode and move stuff to safe locations.

=)
Good Luck

There is no such thing as MS-Dos in XP it is a thing called NTFS and actually you can kiss support for DOS good bye this year.

I laughed when reading this.

Ick, thats what I thought actually. But then where does it say NTFS? NTFS is just a format.

=)

You can start Windows XP into safe mode with command prompt only then copy stuff via dos, but copy it to what is the question…a floppy? Rewrite access isnt supported at the prompt. Press F8 like the man said, and either restore or go into safe mode and run the antivirus.

also if you boot normally, you might want to try pressing ctrl.alt.delete to get the task manager… once there go to the “processes” tab…find explorer.exe and end its task…once it is ended go to “File” then “New Task (Run)” and type in “explorer.exe” this resets your file explorer…see what you can do from there, and also try the restore and antivirus functions…

let us know … yo

switch to a mac

THERE IS NO MORE DOS. Dos was an operating system. It is DEAD!!! What you see is command prompt, all it is is the command line instead of loading the shell.
