Anyone ever experience this?

Hey, you guys. At times, I’ve been having this situation, like right now, and I’ve been wondering if it could be fixed without waiting for it to just go away. Anyone know? [example attached]

Yeah. It’s just explorer.exe being messed up. It’s usually some loop that a program makes explorer go into. If you want it back without restarting the computer, use task manager to shut down explorer.exe. Then File -> New Task (Run), go to C:\Windows\explorer.exe and everything should be back to normal.

Wow, thanks. I’ll try that.

EDIT: Okay, it still doesn’t work. :frowning:

are you using windowblinds? Sometimes that messes it up too.

Most simple windows related problems are solved with one reboot.
After the one mandatory reboot you should look for help.
Exception to this is when the problem arises again after being perfectly fine on the first reboot, and on the second one it appears again.

It’s explorer getting FUBAR on some program that had a problem.
Badly programmed games that get some graphics problem caused that on my windows. When I had it working anyway…

Could also be an issue with the ATI hydra stuff, It creates crazy shadows and trasparency. Check your task manager for “hydradm.exe” and close it, that may deal with it.
