Out of africa

i have a project that i must export my flash movies into animated gifs’. when i do export them and bring them into dreamweaver they dont animate, am i missing something when exporting…:rd:

are you sure your are previewing them (they wont automatically play in DW but should when you view the final HTML page with IE or Netscape - i mean, any browser)

the other problem might be the actual structure of your flash file, i think that flash only animates images that are in the main timeline - if you have any interactions or complicated system of displaying movieclips (ie a movieclip inside a movie clip etc etc…)
it wont show…

other than that you might want to search the forums i think there was a similar question not too long ago…

oh and, by the way WELCOME TO THE FORUMS, you’ll enjoy the stay =) :beam:

why is it a gif?

why not as a flash file?

the reason that the animation has to be a gif animated file is due to the viewers. the project that i’m working on has to reach people in other contries (ex. like Africa) from what i hear, they are not up-dated technology so i have to make it as simple as possible html but they want to have banner flashing around in the site… so i need some advice.

you know photoshop and image ready can do a animated gif for you.

Ill giv the gif thing a go and let u know how i go!

i have done some research myself and it seems easy enough when its read out of a book, but when i actually try it out it takes a down fall. when i preview the animation in / DW, it just sits there like a non-animated gif. i’m just trying to save the work of building a flash site with a html extention

Are the animations all like in movieclips or are they out on stage

I’VE TRIED BOTH, what do you think is the best way???
