This may sound as a stupid question ( :h: ) but here goes anyway: is there any way to integrate patterns into flash? I mean, like the diagonal scan lign thingy or something like that?
Because lot’s of sites have, for instance, a title bar or something like that which appears in flash. But they always look like it’s impossible to be drawn in flash, that they were imported from Photoshop or something. But still, it seems they WERE created in Flash…
While typing this, I realise it doesn’t really make much sense what I’m asking here :ne:
But anyhow, I’ll change my question to this then: does everybody create everything in Photoshop first (like bars, frames/boxes to put content in, nifty buttons, etc…) and then import it into Photoshop?
if you want bitmap patterns, youd first import your pattern (one tile, not repeating) and then either
a) put it on the stage, break it apart and reform the shape to encompass the space you need it to fit or
b) draw the shape that it needs to fit and use a bitmap fill with the imported image to fill the shape (with the paint bucket tool selected, choose bitmap from the drop-down in the color mixer panel and select the desired bitmap to fill with).
Then, if needed, you can use the fill transform tool to adjust the pattern, moving it, rotating it or resizing it as needed.
As for PS to Flash (?) I actually do most of it in Fireworks because vector shapes can go from FW to Flash and maintain there vector-ality-ness-ish, and layers can be maintained as well. If needed, I can use PS for something FW cant handle, but thatll be brought into FW before going into FL.
[edit] wow, didnt notice this was an old thread [/edit]
i’m trying to create a cool background image in photoshop that will fill the browser window. along the lines of scanlines but more unique.
i have seen instances of gridlines that are faded out and seamlessly blend into the html page. or plus signs in some unique pattern…or even doing a gradient. that’s what i’m after.
my question is: at first i thought i could do this by tiling a 50px by 50px image but i’m not getting the results i want. how else might i go about doing this so it still fills up the browser window?
