Last year I was asked to create a simple animation of winter fading into summer. The not so simple part was that only the winter photograph existed!
Ahh well that’s what Photoshop’s for, 70+ layers later I was finished!
This was quite a job as I had to painstakingly place and fix literally hundreds of trees, rocks and their shadows by hand. Everything except the buildings are taken from other images.

Here is the example fade animation (with additional snow effect), the mouse’s horizontal position controls the fade.
