Play that funky music

Hello fellas,
Thanks for all the replies the last time. I loved all of the help that everyone was giving me. Now I have a new question, I put in a mp3 song into my flash by importing to library and dragging the music on the stage. Depending on which coputer in the office that I look from the music comes in and plays but my flash plays at different speeds. I know that this is attributed to the computers. But I made a surf movie so I need the music to come in exactly how it is when viewing off line. :flower: Is there anyway that I can do this? Thanks for all of the help,

Roxy Gurl

:trout:

there are two things you can do:

you can preload your sound, so you don’t have to download it while it plays

or: you can stream your music

Hey, thanks for the quick reply!:geek: I put a preloader in the movie to load the second scene, It still is giving me trouble. But can you tell me more about streaming the music. What program and format would I use? Really nice web page by the way:)
Thanks again and Bye Bye,
Roxy Gurl

You don’t have to use a different program to stream music, it is an option in the property box when viewing a sound object on a timeline. I would prefer a low FPS speed (frames per second) and if you video is huge or very processor intensive you can’t help certain computers from not having problems.

to stream your music:

  1. import your music to the lib
  2. select your frame --> properties
  3. select your sound in the box “sound”
  4. change sync, set it to “stream”

What does this mean, your sound is splitted into frames and each frame of your movie is given a very short sound, this way it doesn’t have to load the sound

Thanks and you’re welcome

excuse me for jumping in but your should do it through as

mm, that’s if you want to use AS to dynamically load your sounds. But I think that when it’s just one sound, it’s easier to make another layer and stream your sound there.

well everyone has there own option but with as there is so much more control of what you can do with your sound

you’re right, i’ll keep that in mind, thanks

ya know what, i had a problem preloading my movie when I imported sound without AS, that is why I originally started using AS to attach sounds.

no problem btw

Thanks to Digitalosophy, Seticus, and everyone else who replied. I checked out the link from Digitalosophy, it was great! But I ended up using the way that Seticus said because it was easier:)
It ended up working great! But I did learn a lot from your link Digitalosophy. Thanks to you all, you are all my personal heros:love:
