portfolio in development/testing and in need of critique. any and all comments are welcome. thanks.

The design is nice and simple… but it sort of lacks the usability feature.
What is the point of dragging it to the dock?
Can’t really view this dock at the same time I’m viewing content…
Find a way to remove all the clicking.
I love the style it just needs a lot of work usability wise.
hey templarian, and thanks for the reply,
i was afraid users might have some issues understanding what i’m trying to do w/ the well, or w/ using it. i’m trying to demonstrate to possible employers how flash can be used to manage, mirror, and store content. aside from the well, was everything else pretty easy to understand and use?
Hi,
I agree with the guy above. It looks great and works well. My one tip is that the colour is too dark. Juice it up a bit with brighter colours.

hey mook,
i appreciate your input. although you agree w/ templarian about the well, was everything else pretty easy to understand/use?
=>was everything else pretty easy to understand/use?
I think so. I use the web a lot and I’m reasonably technical. You’d probably want to test it on someone who has less patience or experience to get a well-rounded view.
i cant see it/ link broken
I really like it, except for the pixel fonts, use the same font as the header. Also the docking well doesn’t pop to the top of the other windows when I click on it.
the look is very professional and relaxed
i actually like the colours, they’re calm… neat design. cant wait to see it finished.
Think it looks pretty sweet.
The pixelfont is hideous though.
nice design, completely useless drag-able window thing:P
I’m not feeling this, man. Got a MS Access feel to it, and not in the good way. Programmers like bare-bones elegance- the rest of the world doesn’t.
thanks to everyone who has replied.
re: LacosteMedia
you may have caught me during an upload. check again.
re: birdparty
it will most likely be a few months until i fill up the portfolio w/ my works (when i graduate), and unfortunately,
arrggh!! i didn’t mean to hit that key!!!
rest of post… unfortunately, the color pallete may not be too forgiving of other subjects.
can’t access it. sounds interesting from the comments though, so I’ll check again in a while…
This whole concept looks pretty solid, would love to see more use out of the dock than what you’ve got right now … took me a few seconds to figure out what the heck to do with it in the first place … possibly try and have the dock shown?
I don’t know - but it’s a helluva starting place!
Nice work! :thumb:
