Please help me build my motor!

I need to build a split ring motor and have been working on it all last week and this week. It’s assembled now but it still doesn’t work. I have it so the power is cut when the two prongs are vertical. Copper wire is wrapped around two iron nails but there is not enough force made between the magnets and the nails to fully create a circle. Can someone please list some possible solutions? I have till tommorow morning to finish this project.

Your building a simple electric motor? Do you have a photo it would be easiest. Your idea sounds good did you try just giving it more power?

bedini motor would of been cool.

Mm, more voltage, more wire, tighter coil, less distance? I’ve never tried building one before, but I’ve played with one  Good fun.

Yea I’m thinking he didn’t ravel the copper tight enough and enough in quantity or space out the magnets right. Then its all a matter of giving it a ton of juice.

[ot]Funny part is my bro was bored and bought the magnets to make a bedini motor (really strong little natural magnets). If you had more time, thats something to build (hes doing in with a full machine shop at hand, but one could do it with things around the house i suppose. :)[/ot]
