Please tell me what you think of my logo

Hey guys,

Let me explain my logo first. My name is Noah, and I’ve been nicknamed Noahdecoco since I was tiny by my mom. My mom is French, my dad is Indian from Goa. In Goa we get a lot of coconut trees and in french we spell coconut as such “NOIXDECOCO”. So, NOIXDECOCO and NOAHDECOCO are pronounced the same way. I really like this nickname and I’ve kept it with me ever since.

So below, you see, is a logo for myself… A flash designer… I do the design, the audio and the scripting for flash projects. So now that you know a bit about me, tell me what you think about the logo! Don’t feel shy to smash it with criticism, every opinion might have a point.

It’s fun but I don’t entirely get the ‘coconut’ feel from the image… if you showed me the picture and I didn’t see the name I’d never associate it with a coconut. the nickname is really cute though - I think you’re right to keep it!!

I think there is too much going on, and the motifs you have going are far too deeply complicated to form an identity with it.

If people didn’t read the back story,they’d have no idea what it is. It should really stand on its own!

I don’t really like it. It looks like a vector clipart, and not a logo. I also, don’t like the choice of the font. To crown it all, the ball looks like a bowling ball.

I’ll admit I don’t like that much…

  1. I don’t like the yellow and black background
  2. the headphones on the coconut head with the hair is not symmetrical
  3. the RGB doesn’t work as a concept with the yellow
  4. the coconut holes are never that big and symmetrical; they are asymmetrical and have a contour shape to it
    5.the head phones are too round add some bevel to it

[whisper]coconut is not a bad concept just refine it a little or a lot[/whisper]

also coconuts have the connotation you have an empty head
