I always have problems designing my own portfolio sites! i dont know what it is, but i just cant seem to get them perfect, and once i do, i have another idea and scrap that idea! I want to get my site up before i start University on the 28th, i dont have this problem with client websites, its just when i do my own i want your comments on the 4 ideas/designs i have done, and which one you like most, bearing in mind they arnt fully complete and if you have any ideas on how to improve them please say.
I am up for a critique! you can rip my layouts to pieces, i just want a nice website, and i have about 10 days! eek. Ok you can view the layouts below.

They are all really good designs. 1 could be really cool if the links flip like a book. I think that is what you are trying to go for there. 2 looks very professional and clean which I am a big fan of. 3 again, looks very clean, nice presentation. 4 looks very cool.
All that being said, here comes the but. BUT I think 2 and 3 are way too simliar to alot of sites Iāve seen out there. I wouldnāt use either of them. I would use either 1 or 4 if I were you.
Personally I would use 4 all the way. Itās much more exciting looking than 1, the ink splotches convey a more exciting feel to me, and the gradient you have in the background works very well with your colors in the foreground.
Ok thanks for your comments, i prefer numbers 1 & 2 personally, i do agree with hwat you say about 2 & 3 looking like sites already out there, the only thing i dont like about number 4 is it looks grundgey, and i am not really into grundge, so thats why i am stuck! please keep posting your comments lol thnaks people
Yeah, I agree with dj, #2ās the cleanest and could turn out to be a strong portfolio, depending on how far you take the AS, Iād personally go with that one!
I would personaly go for the 4, thou 2 is my second fav.
4th is really catchy and thrilling, it makes me wanna see more.
The 1st could work for me only without that background.
Iām not into grunge either but four is definatly the go. To me it doesnt even look very grunge, the paint splotches make it look more like youāre and artist. Very appealing to look further.
Ok ermm, even though you say number 4 im still undecided. I think it just would be hardest to animate i.e. the splodges etc and plus it just wouldnt fit well with the work i have in my portfolio as nothing is like that. Ive come up with thisā¦i combined 1 and 3 togetherā¦any comments?
