Probleme installing DSL

Does anyone knows how to install DSL on Windows XP Pro. that could help me with it please ? Internet works, 'cause I have 2 computers at home though I can’t install it on the other computer.

Thx in advance

You might need to provide more details to get the best help.

I would think that you could follow the same steps to install it on the second computer, unless they have very different hardware/software. (If you installed it on a PC, and your second computer was a Mac, you might not want to follow the same steps. )

Do you want to have both computer accessing the internet at the same time?

Well I have a router, but it’s to install internet on my new computer which is Windows XP Pro. so is the same on this one.

You need to configure your router for the DSL, then all of your other computers access the internet through the router using a standard tcp/ip lan connection.

what kinda router do you have?

I have no idea… but it ain’t because of the router it’s because the other computer isn’t configure for Internet and I don’t know how to ?

Listen sparkey, I have setup and configured dozens of DSL lines and routers. If you are connecting THROUGH your router, the computer itself only needs standrd tcp/ip setup. If you are connecting directly to your DSL modem you must configure PPoE. Some new DSL modems have routers built in and auto configure with the software that came with them. Windows XP (home/pro) has built in PPoE support, Win 98 and down need software to make this connection. Now then, are you going THROUGH your router or not? Are you sure it’s a router and not a HUB? That is what you need to find out, I can help you but get some facts first.
