I must say, I love this site. Everyday I try my best to learn something new. I’m a NEWB, I’ve been in web development for 8 years and know what I call nothing. When I made websites for a living I just flipped tutorials and DID GREAT! I had people who sell business calling me and loving the work. I’m good at graphic design, so I’d change the images and text. BOOOM Hundreds of us dollars. Less than 4-5 hours. Years later, NOWaDAYS. I feel seriously hurt by what I have not learned. Because my company is having to hire independent programmers…and I should be the one handling this thing! :puzzled:Anyways enough of my personal frustrations…lol
I have this project I would love to start, I was wondering if some of you helpful people could help me out. I’m new to flash, I know the basics. I work in sales now, I sell steel buildings. I draw them in detail, and quote them. With steel pricing on the rise, I’m forced to do this ALLLLLLLL OVER AGAIN. As you can tell this method I used was very oldschool. I want to use flash to create this same estimation software and draw images for each combo, so people can see what they expect. I don’t need help drawing, I’ve done them for 3 years now…all pretty colored and everything. I need help with programming something to work. Can anyone out there please point me in the direction that may help me get this together.

**1. We use pricing sheets defined by each state. I would like people to go onto a flash web page and select their state. Then once the state is selected allow the next page to ask the same thing this program asked

All of our pricing is set. To get a price we usually use a sheet that’s designed in a grid format. Very similar to the following. http://www.mmartinezmasonary.com/40wide.pdf . People start with a base price for the size they need. Then they add accessories, for example sides closed on their structure, back walls, front walls, garages doors, and so on. I need to create an addition system in flash that will calculate these cost with out using the grid. VARIABLES?

I just need maybe a template on how to do so, I can then add and finish what ever you start. contact me personally if you may be interested.
