I don’t know if it’s me growing grumpier or some people growing more and more "requestive’ (don’t know if that’s a word), but lately I’ve been fed up a lot with people asking others to do complete things for them, and then complain if they don’t get helped immediately or if they don’t get helped at all - which to me seems pretty logical since they’re asking people do to entire things for them just like that.
I need a menu. I want this and this. Ok, cya later, someone make it for me in the meantime.
Isn’t someone gonna do it for me !?
Oh boo-hoo !
Ok, maybe not the perfect example. There has been a better one, though I can’t remember where it was and searching it didn’t give anything either.
It was pretty much the same, except this person had a whole list of things he wanted done. And then he complained when people didn’t do it for him.
What is wrong with these guys ? They expect people to do their job, and complain when other people refuse to do work that he should do in the first place !! Frustrating !
I know that this forum is here to help people, and I hope that I didn’t grow grumpier about helping people out. I turned down the knob on my rampage since people specifically requested, but I hope it hasn’t grown below zero barrier …
Though on the other hand, we’re not here to do their jobs !
I do, but they keep returning and saying “I can’t find anything”. You do a google, and you find the perfect tutorial in like 5 seconds. Happened to me the other day.
Does anybody with the graphics skills want to find or modify an image that can be used each time somebody requests us to do their work for them? Something similar to the hijack image that we can use when members continue to bug us even after we request them to make an effort
you mean you dont want to take an hour of your time to write the code for him, so he can make tons of money off it ?
some people amaze me man, that’s what the job section is for. i love to help people but it’s obvious this guys just wants a hand out so he can get paid
The last straw for me with people like that was when I was on AIM one day (when I used to have one of my names in my profile) and I got a member who actually took the time to curse me out for telling them I am here to help them and not do the work for them.
Now I just tend to ignore requests like that altogether.
Yeah, these guys crop up every now and then. Rather than ask for help with a specific bit of code, a bug fix/code check or direction to a tute that might help, they’d much rather someone else did all the hard work and coding for them.
I stopped answering them after a while, got fed up. :sure:
