I’m working on a painting of the ocean with slightly choppy waves in Photoshop. I may be doing more work in the future. Unfortunately, I’m stuck with painting the ocean by hand, which is very tedious and difficult to get correct.
What applications (Photoshop plugins, freestanding apps) can create the effect of water, with variable lighting and wave height?
Over the long term, I’m willing to look into high-end (expensive) apps like Maya and such. Short-term I"m looking for something less expensive - maybe Bryce, if that has the effect needed.
