Religion / politics

Ok I was thinking Ordered has been a little quite, so what can I question.
Well I thought I would combine the two topics people are most passionate about and always have an opinion on, Religion & politics.
This is what I see……
***** Religion is being pulled from the schools….
*** People no longer have to swear on the bible….

*** It being inappropriate to have things referring to god in public places……
Etc etc etc……
I get the impression that religion is being slowly removed from society.

Who is responsible for this ?
It’s the politicians that decide these things… It’s the politicians that say you can no longer teach God as our creator in public schools.

However,
Every time I see a politician they are always thanking God, saying to pray, saying God bless us. Etc etc.

So why then when all of the politicians portray themselves as being religious is religion being removed ?
I think if you made the Pope the president of the united states he would have every school teaching religion. Bush portrays himself as being religious yet he does nothing to promote it.

So I believe that all these politicians portraying themselves as religious are not religious. They are just appealing to the masses.

==========================

If Bush came out and said that he didn’t believe in God, everyone who does believe in God would not vote for him purely because of this. So he would be losing more than 50% of his voters straight away.

If Bush comes accross as being religious, he keeps those voters happy. People who are not religious don’t care and would still vote for him anyway.

So it is therefore the sensible thing to appeal to the masses by claiming to be religious even if you are not. Which is what I believe is happening.
