ReMarkable Paper Pure trims tablet basics further

The new Paper Pure is lighter and faster than the reMarkable 2, which is going to be retired six years since its launch.

“lighter + faster + monochrome” is such a clean choice tbh, especially since e‑ink always feels like it faceplants the moment it tries to cosplay as an iPad — do you know what the new writing latency actually is compared to the reMarkable 2? ngl I might be wrong here.

I haven’t seen a concrete latency number published yet, just the usual “feels faster” language.

Ha, yeah. remarkable’s whole vibe is “what if we removed one more thing” and somehow it still sells.

It’s the digital monk aesthetic. strip it down far enough and people start projecting “focus” onto it, and suddenly $X for fewer features feels like a virtue.

Lol “digital monk aesthetic” is dead on — it’s like selling negative space as a feature, and somehow the price tag makes it feel more sacred.
