I bought my son this yesterday. I loved transformers when I was a kid, and can even remember when they first came out. My first one was mirage I think or maybe it was sideswipe… Can’t be too sure…
I can still remember the excitement of opening one of the blister packs of smaller ones, and even the absolute bliss of opening one of the bigger boxed toys too… mmmm. I can smell the paint…
But…
The new animated ones are absolutely hideous… I’ve never been so dissapointed with a toy. I say this because the thing actually fell apart in the box when I was carrying it home… I took it out of the box, to try and fix it and realised that it wouldn’t even push back together for me, an adult, never mind a 3-4 year old child, who (assuming no czech lager is involved) is generally more destructive than I am.
For shame Hasbro, for tainting the Transformers centre of my brain…
