I am wondering if there are any good techniques other than the clone stamp and clicking to remove (realistically) watermarks from a photo.
The clone stamp is the only method I know and it never seems to retain textures the way it should. So I wind up going back in with the smudge tool to attempt to clean it up or just to blur uneven colors together.
Here is an example of the way I do it. It looks OK I guess but still produces a very non realistic look to it.
Im not big into removing watermarks from images as most are there for a good reason. Just want to know for unique situations like this.

That doesn’t look too bad. I don’t know any other way to do it, there is probably some tricky thing somewhere… But while you’re using the clone tool, make sure you have the brush type as the hard edge one, not the fuzzy one…
you can try messing with the contrast/levels and color controls before cloning. The person did not do a very good watermark. You may able to get it to equalize out alot making the cloning easier
Yea thats a decent job. If you know the font of that letter, and position it exactly, it might be possible to reverse the tinting. Maybe I just dreamed it…
