Rich Internet Applications - Actionscript Developer (Flash / Flex)
Passionate, curious, enthusiastic geek required to join cutting-edge RIA team working for one of the UK’s leading digital agencies. You might be a talented developer from another discipline who sees the massive potential in rich web (Flash / Flex, Silverlight), desktop (AIR) and mobile (Flash Lite 3, Android, IPhone SDK) and is looking for a new challenge. What is important for us is that you have a solid grounding in OOP and a deep familiarity with an established framework - this could be in Java, .NET, ActionScript or any other commercial language.
You’ll be happy to work using Eclipse, Subversion, Trac, Mylyn and appreciate working with colleagues who are striving to create a world-class development environment (we see the value in Last.fm’s approach to osmotic communications and so have our own private IRC server for team communication, have repurposed Last.fm’s irccat for our own automation fun, and welcome any other ideas into the team). We follow Test-Driven Development, do continuous integration with CruiseControl, use projectsprouts for automated project creation and dependancy download, and have settled on puremvc for most projects.
Our bread-and-butter is Flash projects using ActionScript 3.0 (it’s defintely time to move on from AS2) but as you can probably gather, we’re developers who rarely touch the Flash IDE, and often dip into other technologies. Our work includes rich, complex web applications using standard physics and 3d libraries, through to kiosk, mobile and desktop application development. We have an outstanding roster of clients with a very interesting selection of projects for 2008. We plan well, and work reasonable hours (from what we hear, that separates us from most of the pack).
With our imminent move to some of the coolest new digs in Brick Lane (with an outdoor terrace for summer parties, games room, 3 storey video wall and other assorted goodies) now’s definitely a good time to check out whether joining LBi is the logical next step in your career development.
