So before winter break we got the news that we would finally be getting new computers. The whole department (3 of us were happy). Like these are gaming grade with dual 22", what we had asked for and more (continue reading it gets grim).
Today at the meeting my boss comes back with the news that the computers were not going to be ready for 2 weeks. The reason they are tethering them to a surveillance server. You know the applications they have that allow a person at anytime to see your desktop and take complete control of it.
I know legally this can be done, and I’m sort of okay because they allow personal laptops, but you know I can’t play games on it, previously I made one monitor run WoW/CS:S (I have 3 currently, new setup will have 4… if it lets me).
Just wondering if anyone else has something like this in place and how everyone took it.
