Save Hotmail E-mails

Does anyone here know how to (if possible) save the e-mails from your hotmail account to your harddrive? :ne:

Coz my inbox has been full since like…forever, but now it’s really gettin’ problematic, coz people are telling me they’ve send me e-mails, and I haven’t gotten them. :pa:

But still, I don’t want to delete the ones in my inbox, so is there any way to save them to my hard drive?

add your hotmail account in outlook express, then you’ll download them to your comp…

you could always copy and paste then to a notepad *.txt file…you wouldn’t get all the fancy stuff HTML emails have, but you would save the text (which is usually the important part).

Okay, I managed to open my hotmail account in outlook. But now…I never actually used Outlook before, so forgive me my question :stuck_out_tongue: : how do I save them to my harddrive? I mean, is there an export function or something? Or do I REALLY have to select each one and individually save it? That can’t be right? :puzzle:

Why do you want to “save them to your harddrive”? They are already in your harddrive! :slight_smile:

If you still want to do so, just select all the mails and drag them into the folder you want to save them in.

How do you mean, they’re already on my harddrive? :puzzle: You mean the second I look at them in Outlook, they’re on my harddrive? :h:

As I said, I don’t really know how to work with this program since it has always been gettin’ dusted in my Start Menu. Now, I tried copying all those mails from my Hotmail Inbox into my “INBOX” (so I guess regular Inbox in Outlook). But I still can’t find them on my harddrive? In which folder should I look then?

This probably makes me look extremely dumb :asleep:

No problem buddy :slight_smile: They are not in any folder. They are in a special file called Outlook.pst. Outlook keeps all your messages and the only limit of your inbox is the size of your harddrive.

Now whenever you open Outlook, it’s going to download your new messages from Hotmail. I’m not sure about the old messages though. Now that you’ve set up your hotmail in Outlook, did you get any messages in your Outlook Inbox? Any old emails that you had in your Hotmail Inbox?

Aaaaah, I see. Well, everything works fine now. I copied them and they’re out of my Hotmail Inbox but I can still check them in that other inbox! Thanks a lot mate :slight_smile: And everyone else too ofcourse!
