I just had a very bad second interview…again. This is the 2nd time I’ve been for interviews with a web agency only to get to the 2nd interview and **** up big time.
Thought I said all the right things. I thought I came across very well, until I get outside and realise the interview only lasted 16 mins…16 MINS, wtf is that, thats no time to realise the guy sitting across from your is the web/multimedia developer you’ve been looking for
“Mary, hold all calls…this kids got something and we have to hire him now”
or
“Mary, what was that guys name?”
“Gee Jim, who gives a **** he sucked”
AARRRGGGHHHH!!! Once is very annoying. Twice. The job was perfect for me as well. I would have learned video editing and how to use director as well for CD publication, instead it’s back to the job hunting…****!!!
The first interview was for a senior developer at an agency. I went in and talked the talked. Databases, flash, building CMS, meeting the clients needs, I talked about it all, I was good. Then I got techy. And a bit more techy. And I don’t know why I did this cause they had told me the job would involve a bit of marketing work and coming up with new innovations on the new media side. But yet I kept going on the techy front until the guy eventually reminded me about the marketing stuff so I switched track and started talking marketing but bby then it was too late…I was a techy talking marketing in their eyes and it was another very good role I’d ****ed up…
The interview just now went well. I talked code. I talked marketing. I was asked skills and I listed all my skills. I was asked about prioritising work and I talked about that as well. I thought the interview went well until I came outside and realised I’d only been in for 16 mins…man if I had beer in the house I’d get so wasted right now.
I offically hate 2nd interviews. You relax a bit more. You’re not as good as you were during the first one cause in the first one you were trying really hard to impress, but now you got one foot in the door cause they invited you back for a second interview…jesus I even called the MD Dave, I can relax they want me right…****!!!
Going out for beer, back to continue ranting in a minute
