Hey guys,
I am trying to sell a PC that was given to me as a gift. This isn’t the problem, the problem is, is that the “gifter” didn’t have any discs associated with Windows or the machine, but the Windows serial number is on the side of the machine. I want to reformat it before I sell it and have a fresh install of Windows on there for the person that buys it.
Is it still illegal if I download a copy of Windows and then use the serial number on the machine? I’m not asking anyone for illegal advice, I just don’t see the point in buying a whole new Windows build if the machine has its own serial number.
