I’m trying to shape tween two bitmap files but all i get is dotted lines instead of the arrow. In the properties box there a yellow yield sign w/ an exclamation point on it. When I press that a message reads ‘shape tweening willl not occur on layers containing symbols or grouped objects’. I dont even know how to group so I dont thing my bitmap’s are grouped. What gives?

You can only shape tweening vector graphics not bitmap…
Check here on Kirupa tutorials about this issue.
Try pressing Break Apart on both the objects… it should work then. I still don’t recommend that even if they are very simple graphics, because it’ll probably be very slow and proccessor intensive.
Now that you mention that, I do have alot of bitmaps and when I ‘test movie’ I’ve noticed that it slows down in certain parts of the movie. Is there a way to correct that? (in my library I have the bitmap and the symbol I converted it to (INSERT>CONVERT TO SYMBOL). When I try to delete the bitmap, both the bitmap and the symbol are deleted.?) Suggestions?

Listen i guess is better you read the tutorials you have on Flash Mx program,
Open the program
Click on “Help” , and you will find there a interactive tutorial that im sure
that will help me to understand what is “Symbols”…
For now i can say that if you can´t delete a bitmap that is part of
a “symbol”.
