Ok, two things tho. I know you aren’t looking for critiques but I’m gonna give them anyway.
You should fix the tabIndex so that when I press the tab key it goes to the next input box. For me it skips over to the SHOUTBOX button on the right…
The refresh still didn’t work for me. I had to refresh the page to see my post… if you check out my thread with my post I fixed the code so that it wouldn’t produce a pop-up and it still refreshes correctly… dunno if you still feel like fixin’ it…
hey man… probably you remember. i worked hard on this solution, your file hat a popup window, which closed itself, but the surfer was asked if he wanted to close that window.
i spent 100 hours on that shoutbox, and if you remember, i asked you about some problems with the cache, that flash causes, and i found my own solution, so plz do not accuse me of copying your shoutbox. another problem is that when you load text from a php script and want to attach a scrollbar, it wont work. try solve it!!!
if you want to, i will send you my files, you will see they have nothing in common with yours. ive even written my own php-scripts.
its not cool that everybody in that forum thinks people copy all of his work.
lol. I offered it as open source, I expect people to copy my work. I remember that I helped you. I figured you had figured it out and gotten it to work. Didn’t realize you never fixed the problem and switched methods.
wow…
I actually would like to see your file if you dont mind I would like to see why the scrollbar won’t work.
oh yeah and my file is fixed (like i said) it was a problem with loadVars() for some reason that was being a pain in the butt, so I did end up using loadVariablesNum(), i think that the problem with your original file (which I think I actually still have… lol) was that when you called to reload the variables, you didn’t have a loop to check if they existed… so it loaded them, but didn’t read them fast enough for the flash player… cuz I actually got your file to work before I reformated my computer.
I am not going to try again, just because I don’t want to flood your shoutbox with my stupid posts. I’ll take your word for it. It might be my stupid network. My school spends 100,000,000 on the Administration salaries and about $0.98 on our school network. AOL is more stable than this stupid thing.
the scrollbar doesnt work when you display variables loaded from a php-script in a dynamic textfield. i used the tutorial "scroll dynamically loaded text, but then the text was displayed without “executing” the html-tags, and it took me a while to enable html via AS. i think i will publish the files here, its too much work to send via PM.
ive got no idea how to fix that tab-problem. could you please help me?
hmm, the code should work if you load them from php script. How do you load them then? just curious? you don’t use PHP? or do you load them straight from the text file?
Cool, if you publish them here I will take a look. I really like the design.
Oh, and I am sorry about my first post. After re-reading what I typed that did sound like I was being an *******. I apologize, did not mean anything by it.
About the tab index, let me see if i can dig something up…
