Silverback3D

Hi everyone,

First of all, just saying hello since this is my first post.

Second, I’d like to show you guys my latest project. Silverback3D is a 3D engine/renderer that I’ve been making on-and-off for the last year or so. It’s come a long way, it originally would barely be able to handle 15-20 poly models, but now can handle the 1,500+ poly ‘Silverback’ model quite well.

Some examples of what it can do:

For those of you who want to see more or follow my progress, I have a Silverback3D Development blog which I try to update daily with updates on the project and more in-depth explanations of how the rendering works.

I’d love to hear your feedback on this project, since I’ve put so much time into it. I still have more features that I’d like to add before making it publicly available, but I’m hoping to release it relatively soon.

(Note: I realize that this project shares many similarities with Papervision3D. I actually hadn’t heard about Papervision until I had already put a lot of work into this project, so I kept on working on it. If nothing else, this is a great portfolio piece and learning experience for me)
