Site check please

At last I have finished my site (8 months in the making). portfolio section is still not complete but the structure of it all seems to be working without any bugs.

I have tried to keep this as minimilistic as possible, so it is easy to use for clients.

Please let me know your feedback on this, any bugs no matter how small will be much appreciated!

site

Solid site Kev, very nice work.

One thing I noticed is that in the “price guide” section, the ‘starter’, ‘advanced’, and ‘premeire’ links have very little hit area when the are in the ‘up’ position.

Another thing is that you might think about making the background (outside the box) a light shade of some color (perhaps a grey/blue or just light grey). There is a lot of white on the page, so it might ‘pop’ a little better if the page background was slightly shaded.

Thanks jingman, I’ll sort those buttons out  i still don’t like there position to be honest, but thanks for the input :).

And making the outer shell as it were a slight shade of colour sounds a good idea, I never thought about that. Thanks!

Take care

Kev

Do you know of a tutorial on how to make that counter on your site? I assume just a php script and a flash var.

The site looks good, nice color scheme and an all around good site. Good work.

nice one Kev. Just my cup of tea that sort of site. Clean, pro looking and easy to understand. One thing that puzzles me, how the hell do you do that contact stuff with the input boxes. I am clueless with this sort of thing. I understand that some sort of backend stuff is going on. I’ll be buggered if I know how to do it, if you pardon the expression.

If you know any tutorials about this let me know. How did you learn it?

Cheers.

Thanks guyz, well the counter and forms are all done with php, the counter tut is on actionscripts.org by jesse, just do a search on there and you’ll find it. The form (can’t remember where I got that from) I’ll post a .zip of it when I get a chance  There should be a tut on it here or at actionscripts.org!

Just remember with php that it will not work locally on your computer, it will have to be uploaded to your server, and your server must have php installed on it!

Thanks again

Kev

Your site does look slick but:
-the way menu texts are when they are clicked (blurred and above the grey line) look like they didnt finish an animation, it doesnt look right… maybe you could shade the menu area a bit
-i feel it lacks a few images, even a stock image on the front page would look good… Dunno though, maybe the austerity is part of the good design, I have no clue…

cool site really clean looking and as some one else said very solid.

If i had to be super critical though i have only one gripe…
and its very minor indeed, where you have your nav buttons at the top the word ‘introduction’ on the left looks a bit pointless and throws me as its out of line with the other words…
other than that though very nice…

Images are to come  I guess introduction seems a bit naff, but it is what it is! an introduction. I was thinking from a client’s point of view. Alawys make it as simple as a baby (who can read ‘introduction’ can)

More backgroud images are in the pipe line, I can never make my mind up though!!
And the portfolio section has to be better then the rest, because your always as good as your last job, and thast is soooo true!

Thanks for the advice, allways thakfull

Cheers

Yeah fair point

But line it up with the button text maybe and make a different color slightly to differentiate between it and the interface…just an idea :bounce:

Hi ave, Thanks for the comments, when you say:

Ok, no problem

Kev, I posted some questions here at kirupa about what you do on your site. I am trying to learn all the tricks in flash. If you can help it would be great.

You can see the thread here:
