Site layout check - (still in progress)

I’ve posted this on my angelfire site temporarily because I want you guys to have a look at the layout for me. You can get the basic idea of the way I’m displaying my stuff, but something is not quite right… and I can’t figure it out. It needs alot of tweaking, perhaps you’ll have some ideas for me? Any suggestions are welcome, negative or positive…

(ok, so it’s no where near finished yet, but I’m hoping to catch any major flaws early)

Wow after I closed 93847239 or so popups, the layout is pretty good, but I think the way everything loaded took too long so you might want to bump up the FPS a bit.

Also setting your page margins to 0 at the top would make your layout flush with the top.

There isn’t much to critique on, but so far it looks promising. =)

it looks good. im not sure if the pop-ups are good. so it might be a good idea to get a domain name, so it would get rid of the pesky popups. But all together, i like it, clean lay-out, and i like the colors used.

keep up the good work.

Sorry about all the popups :sigh: . As much as I detest them I don’t have access to FTP here at the moment so I can’t upload to my other webspace (no popups there).

The FPS was set to 24… I thought that would have been high enough. Perhaps it was lagging? I think I might get rid of most of the “building itself” intro. I have a feeling it might be taking just that little bit too long anyway and mostly just delaying from viewing the content (when there is some)

and… the page margins are set to 0. I think the **** angelfire code is putting in a space at the top where there shouldn’t be any.

Any more suggestions are welcome (-: I’d be also interested to hear what frame rate settings most of you use?

Well most people use 24, but I use 26 most of the time and it’s pretty smooth. =)

I updated with the suggestion of making it shorter. I sort of squeezed the intro together a bit, shaving off about 40 unecessary frames.
Hopefully it doesn’t look too cluttered when it goes through the intro bit. I’m also a bit unsure of having external swf’s loading on the startup. I have 2 loading almost at the same time. They are small now, but will be a little larger when finished. Is loading 2 external files at the same time a problem?

To avoid the popups I’ve put all the update published files in a zip instead of uploading it to angelfire.

yeah… he was supposed to be a frog. He won’t be featuring on the front page in the final version. I’m making a detailed model of a honda VTR firestorm… I think it will probably be the feature on the front page after a bit of post render editing in photoshop.
