Site of the Week (March 19 - March 26)

If you wish to be considered for this week, please read the summary of rules:

  1. Reply by the end of March 26th to be considered for this week’s award.

  2. Include the URL and your email address.

Only the webmaster/creator of the site can submit.

Only one submission per person per week.

Submissions are capped at 10 entries each week, so don’t wait or hesitate until the last minute. Entries beyond the 10 entry limit will not be eligible for the SOTW for that particular week.

Include a brief synopsis of your site inluding its purpose, or maybe some features you wouldn’t want anyone to miss.

  1. Your site does not have to be full Flash to be eligible. Whilst you still must employ Flash to some extent, we are also looking for the overall design and usability of your site, not just your Flash skills.

  2. While it is understood that sites are perpetually under construction, please submit only complete sites. Do not submit a site that is less than 80% finished.

  3. Submissions must be actual websites with sections and content. Examples of ineligible include (but not limited to) flash games, movies, etc.

  4. There will be a private poll among the moderators and a winner will be announced.

  5. No critiques or feedback is allowed in the submission thread. If you wish a concentrated critique of your site, you may start a thread in Site Check.

  6. If you posted a entry in SOTW within the past two weeks, and that entry was among the first 10 entries for that week, then you will be ineligible to re-submit your site. There is now a two week cool-off period between submitting sites.

For more information or questions, please refer to the Official SOTW Rules. Once you have read and understand the rules above, you may submit your site to this thread. Sites not adhering to the rules above will be disqualified and deleted. Submitting your site is an agreement and acceptance of the rules.

Hi I created a site in flash for an unsigned RnB group. The main goal was to provide the band with a format that would showcase the group. Site include streaming tracks and video. I was responsible for everything, from designing the logo to shooting and editing the video. So please accept my submission.

Kirupa

i dont get the results, other entries seem to have alot more going on then that from drawingArt. all his sites are the dang same and just about all his designs are copies from someone elses design … ? im just confused… H2 seems to be a run off from ( taken from news)

votes are done and the winner is here yet i dont feel like i cant take my hat off to him…

p.s. what is up with his bg … its just cut off on top … CONFUSED …

once again sorry … i know its not the place for this …

to all the real designers … MORE POWER and KEEP MOTIVATING

good luck

Well all I can say is to each his own. It is not often that we have 100% outcome. But it is not like we all get to gether and vote on one. Each mod has their own voting style and criteria. We just happened to all agree on this one. We may get back in the habit of writing extensive crits for each entry, but even then that is base don the individual tastes of the voter… That being said, there were some strong entries this week but I felt DA was the strongest of the bunch. And that does not mean that the others suck or anything.

no DDD this wasnt to offend any of you. its was just something that i have seen around alot, even on Bombshock it was a topic, anyway i thought that it should be said here too. hope you understand. I def. think that YOU guys rock and that YOU guys do a hell of a job keeping all this up for people like myself that learn from all of you. criteria might be nice but i dont think its something thats really needed. more power and less stress…peace

I find it degrading that another design company asked DrawingArt to make their website. A design company should know how to design their own website. Otherwise, they don’t deserve to design.

Happens all the time, you’d be surprised. Most of the time the hiring company is involved in different designing fields (off-web) or don’t have a competent online designer onstaff, in which case they hire somebody else to design the site and then do the backend.

I don’t know what the case was with this site in particular, but I think drawingart is a great designer.
