A while ago I received complaints that after you click “home” after going to one of my sections on my site, the site would “restart” or flicker. I have been working to find a solution to this problem.
Now I can’t get it to happen on my computer, does it happen on your computers?
Okay I don’t know what you’ve done but from what I observed I clicked on the 3d stills section and waited for the home button to show up. I pressed the home button and everything was going great until I rolled off the home button and the site flickered/restarted whatever you want to call it.
k try leavig the cursor on the buttons the whole time 'cause it flickers on rollout.
Another weird thing too is that if you click on a section button and don’t move the cursor off of the button the thing will displaying ‘loading’ forever.
so now I have to figure out what’s causing CG’s problems. I havent had them yet. Cg could u possibly be seeingthe old version of my site in cashe or something?
I’m not getting any flicker (maybe mini mini miniscule but that’s all- might be even imagining it!) with Safari on mac os X 2.6.
BTW - can I say I still love your site!! so much I’m compelled to say- you know how when you enter and the blue graphic scrolls down as the black bg has loading happening (on my pathetic dialup here) could you somehow have it so the blue graphic is already loaded and you show percentage with some loading graphic that ties in with the atmosphere of the blue graphic? THen I would be totally transfixed
Ok… so it looks like it’s only happening to a few people… hmmmm
jdl- Thanks! What do you mean by “blue graphic”? I would do a percentage loader, but usually they run fast, changing the peaceful atmosphere of my site :). I was thinking of later having the percentage flash up when the loading text comes up, so it’s not constantly changing. What do you mean about the blue graphic scrolling down? I didn’t animate that at all, so if it looks good, great! It wasn’t intentional
You know the blue atmospheric pattern that lies behind the main movie? On dialup , it appears to scroll open (you know like jpg’s do while you are waiting to see the picture in it’s entirety)except with yours there’s a white line at it’s base that stretches across the screen and moves down first. You need to see what I mean on dialup either that or my Safari browser has gone bonkers
