I’ve created part of a navigation bar, but the animation is running at a snails pace when the mouse rolls over the ‘videography’ link. I’m pretty sure this due to the large number of symbols and grouped objects within the animation… How can I solve this problem!?
It’s running at 12fps, which I would’ve thought should be fine.
If you change the quality of the animation to low in the popup menu, it runs seemingly ok, which is why I think it’s the complexity of the graphics that’s causing the problem rather than an fps issue.
I upped to frame rate to 20fps, but still no luck, so the file’s online if you want to take a look at it - it’s too big to attatch :beam: but you can download it here
I’m on a Mac running Flash 5.0, but I’m assuming Mac .fla files can be opened fine on a PC.
I’m only running on a lowly G3 350, but it’s never failed to run a flash movie smoothly in the past.
Plus, I’ve checked this animation on friends’ PCs and numerous PCs around campus too, and all of them are having the same problems.
Still, it’s interesting to know it’s working fine on some machines.
Well it’s running ok on my PC so it’s not too bad. You’re right about having too many symbols though. The more objects you have on stage, the more processor intensive it is.
