What program(s) can I use to cut out vocals or bass or drums or something from a song? If it’s even possible…?
Not possible, a song is a wave length that is compiled of what you hear, unless you get a instrumental (just music, not singing), a acapella (no music just signing), then you can cut and paste away. A good programs to use when you have you files to edit would be Sonicfoundry Soundforge or Fruity Loops
I’ve got soundforge. So I guess just cutting parts of sounds out’ll hafta be good enough
yeah , well if you can find spot in the sample where they is just a music loop then you can cut that out and loop that. Vocals are a bit harder due to the music usually being in the background.
Best of luck
Thanks young lad. And good luck on your quest to slay that thingie…yeh…
and make sure you’re not using copyrighted stuff without permission

There are programs out there that allow you to do that. I’ve only used cool edit and fruityloops so I know those allow you to do that. I’m pretty sure almost any sound editing program will allow you to do it, it’s just a matter of figuring out how.
Yep, like egeek said , but if your talking about fading in and out for flash check this link out
::changed the link, this one is easier to read.

In Sound Forge there is a cross fade option.
-
Open both wav files at the same time.
-
Select the whole content of your first wave and copy it.
-
Place your cursor at the place where you want to begin the crossfade.
-
Select Paste/Special and youll then see the options for how you want the fade to work.
I assume it’s similar in other editors.

P.S. If you’re going to be importing sound as mp3 your best option is to use Rasorlame and Lame to do the conversion from .wav to .mp3.
I’ve tried a lot of them and bought a few … but Lame is the best sounding one I’ve ever heard…and it’s free.
Download it here:

And if you like … check out some of the toons from the
CD I produced.
