Stupid little tween problem

ok sometimes when im tweening i have two key frames, one with 0 alpha and the next with 100 alpha(just an example). When i try to add the tween in instead of getting the arrow between the keyframs i get a dotted line. What the heck is this about? Am i doing something wrong? :puzzled:
