Hi guys… hope i can explain this well enough so you know what I’m trying to do. I want to make a “sweeping color fade”. In other words, I want to take a b&w image, and have the color fade in and out from, let’s say, left to right, over a period of time. I figure I’ll need some kind of actionscript to do this effect, being that if i use a b&w and color version of the image, I would have to use some alpha fades in which case the edges of the trandparent color image would be seen as it moves across the b&w image… thus ruining the effect. If anyone coud help i would greatly apprecaite it!
I guess you have to use masks, imagine you have two images, one is the b&w version of the other. the colored one is over the other(b&w) but we cant see it because its masked and is complety trasparent. the mask is in the left side of the screen, at the same time it starts to move to the right, the colored image starts to gain alpha very slow. the result; the b&w image starts to get colored from the left, maybe it will not look like much when the mask is moving through the image, maybe you would like to use a non-square shape mask
