I checked out the forum at ERain for late 2007 and early 2008 and it seemed full of complaints about Swift 3D not working with Flash CS3, and the company unresponsive to complaints and even being “dormant.”
And yet the (undated) review here of the product and ERain’s support is glowing… as are reviews elsewhere.
What gives? Does Swift 3D now work with CS3? Is the company “dormant” or vibrant and responsive?
I expected to see it as a forum topic here at Kirupa. But I can’t find any such reference in the forum descriptions, so I just guessed this games/tech forum might be appropriate.
And what about Papervision? I did a search of Kirupa; nothing came up.
I saw a description of Papervision that read:
Papervision3D is an open source 3D engine for Flash that leverages ActionScript 3.0 and the Flash 9 player to draw true 3D and allow for real-time user interaction.
I would have thought such a subject would have at least been mentioned in passing at Kirupa.
I went to what I think is Papervision’s home page and got nothing but a logo and then a huge, beautiful animated sea aquarium came up – but nothing else.
I’d like to get into 3D animation in Flash but I’m having trouble getting a clear picture of what’s out there and how good it is.
Any up-to-date thoughts on the subjects or links to suggest?
Thanks.
