Swift 3D - rotating axis

Hey Guys,

Ive modeled a street sign. And I have added a simple 360 spin to it. But i want the rotating axis to be from the base of the post. Is there a way where I can change the axis where the object spins?

Let me know if this makes sense, thanks

This is the post

Yea… change the position. You will see that you can either move the object and rotation position at the same time or just one or the other… (either this or it was gmax but im almost a hundred percent sure it was swift). Group them first by shift clicking them all.

Im just a newbie on the program, so if you could give me a little more detail on how to do it that would be good

Because all i did was drag the standard 360 degree animation onto the object!

Thanks anyway

First get out of the Animation mode. Then make the sign-objects children of the post by dragging the signs onto the post-object in the Hierarchy menu. Select the post-object and go to the properties panel on the left. Click Position and set all the pivot settings to 0 or to the center of the post. Your animation should rotate the post around it’s center now.

for your case you need to change the pivote position to the end of the board (or on the poll) right.

I think here is the place…

select the object -> select the move tool -> now check the position menu in the upper left corner…

there you should see move both, move object only, move pivot only options…
first move your pivot to the poll then switch back to move both option…

now if you rotate the board it will rotate along the poll…

let me know if this helps
