Table problem in Dreamweaver

:ne::ne::ne::ne:

Now, here’s my problem:

I’m creating this little splash page for my site using tables in Dreamweaver.

This is the first time I’m using tables, so it’s all pretty new to me.

The splash page mainly consists of a pattern background (so I set the page background to that pattern in page properties) and in the middle of the page, a vertical rectangle which stretches from the top to the bottom.

So I have 3 rows and 3 columns, the middle column top row has a small part of the bar which is repeated to stretch out, the middle row has the main part of the bar with the info (which has a set size) and the bottom row has another small part which is repeated to stretch out.

Now here’s my problem: the stretching and all works perfectly, but when I preview it in my browser, the top and bottom part don’t go *ALL THE WAY DOWN. *There’s a little part left above and under the vertical bar, where it doesn’t stretch out and where you can see the background pattern…

I’ve tried aligning the cells etc, but nothing worked…anyone know what I could do?

Thanks for bearing with me trough this whole explanation…

I can help you out El if you post a screenshot of whats wrong, explanations regarding tables can be confusing without visual representation.

Okay thanks, this is a small screenshot of the top part of the vertical bar I was talking about, which doesn’t stretch the whole way to the top (I … err… highlighted it in red ;)). You can see it’s being repeated because the patterns don’t flow into each other, but I’ll fix that once I figure out how to make it go to the top…

If this screenshot didn’t help much, I can try to take some others if you need them…

So what your wanting to do is make the bar under the red line stretch all the way up to the red line?

Well, above the red line thingy, you can see my browser window beginning. I basically just want the bar to go right up to the edge of the browser window (it’s a cell with a small piece of the bar in it, which repeats itself to stretch out according to the users resolution) But as you can see, it doesn’t go to the top, coz that’s where I drew that red line…

bump

Anyone? :frowning:

If you post your html somewhere we can actually visually see it and prolly view your coding then it would help us trouble shoot it. if you’re worried about your art work just replace them w/ colors or something. but like any other thing that comes up like this… it’s much easier for us to trouble shoot it if you post it up
