Unflux: Your last statement was quite immature if you ask me. This situation is a situation between you and pixelmorder, not you, pixelmorder and kirupa.com. So I don’t see why you would ban yourself from this forum simply because Pixelmorder did or did not copy your layout (my opinion on the matter will not be stated because this is an issue that can only be solved between you and pixelmorder)
You should PM or E-mail Pixelmorder directly and solve this issue privately.
I’m sorry you feel that way Unflux, but one thing about designing is that you never own the right to a trendy type of design that is very popular.
You chose to design in a style that is very popular right now and there are tons of sites out there that have similarities to your layout. They may not be 100% identical, but they share some common aspects.
If pixelmorder’s layout was identical then I would be all over his a $ $ as well, but in this case, I just feel that it wasn’t a rip. He might of been inspired by you, which you should be flattered, but his layout isn’t identical.
There is a difference from being inspired and ripping…

I think you have a huge ego if you are giving yourself credit for having an absolutely original design and asking Pixelmoder to change his/her site.

I happen to agree that the designs look similiar, but as far as it being a rip, i would not say that. Unflux’s site, (which is awesome by the way, and completely deserving of SOTW) is not terribly different from all of the other flash design sites that are out there. They all use sharp lines and 45 degree angles, and its really all the same.

If he copied you deliberately, thats bad, but i think its out of line that you ask him to change his design. Its only HTML anyway.

UNFLUX, i really think you and your immature statements don’t belong here. Kirupa.com has nothing to do with this matter, the problem most probably lies somewhere inside you and your own four walls.You sound as if you think that you came up with a completely new idea in design and claim all the rights for it, which is totally wrong.
I don’t quite understand what’s the purpose of all this? to get more people to agree with you and your poor statements or to solve this “issue” with Pixelmoder? Because if this is how you plan to solve all this, then it’s not going to solve anything, in fact, it can just make everything worse!

I dont think you should be so quick to climb up one side of Flux and down the other.
Clearly he is upset because he feels that his work has been copied. His site is not an achive of photographs of him and his buddies drinking beers. It is his livleyhood and brand.
If any of you hang around the random forum you can find countless posts of him talking about his new office space etc.
I am not on either side of the fence here, but if felt <b> your </b>companies identity had been stolen youwould feel exactly the same way.
Christ its not that important to me. I design sites on the side for a little extra play money or vacations. I have another full time job. Flux does it to survive.
If Pixelmoder took microsoft’s design he would be in court trying to avoid paying intellectual property damages.

Dude this is rediculous, I havent read this thread in a while and I have just read all the messages.
Your way of thinking is quite distorted if you think I ripped you. I’m not gonna argue with you, the only people who think I ripped you are people who are friends with you, coinsidence, I think not.
I am not changing my whole layout just because I have 45 degree lines. The way of laying out the IFrames is the exact same as my previous layout, which was launched last November, so if anything, you copied my basic template.
I’m not arguing about it, more people than not disagree with you. Drop it. I dont appreciate being named a ripper when I’ve most likely been in the business much longer than you.

lol, I agree with you, Unflux is a very respectable designer, but throughtout my site’s history, with every new layout he accuses me of ripping someone, somewhere, somehow, and it’s getting old cause everytime the same 3 people agree with him and everyone else disagrees.
I didnt even know this was going on till this morning! Haha, I havent read the thread since last week when I created it. But whatever.
Unflux, I hold no grudges, just stop calling me a ripper. I am not paid $200 per design by my clients for being a “ripper”.

I don’t think you guys realize this but he left a long time ago. I don’t think he is even suscribed to this thread anymore. I think he has moved on and it might be a good thing if everyone did that.
