Ok, let me tell you right now that I don’t usually pick up a book to read on my own. As a matter of fact the last book I read was Catcher in the Rye in high school. If you don’t usually read, or don’t like to read, let me tell you: you have to go out and get/read this book. I just finished it and i’ve come to the conclusion that it may be the best book i’ve ever read or will ever read. The thing about this book is that it’s a definite page turner. Dan Brown (the author) has the unique ability of leaving you at a cliffhanger at the end of every chapter, which just makes you want to read further. To add, this isn’t just a passive book. There are riddles inside that you can try to figure out for yourself. There are twists and turns at every end, and the story binds itself together so well.
This book is basically about the search for the Holy Grail. It is lead posthumously by one of its keepers who was mysteriously murdered along with three other keepers, disclosing the secret of the grail for good. However, the leader of the keepers, one of the four who were murdered that night, was a sly and wily craftsman who enjoyed puzzles. In an attempt to keep the secret alive, his dying moments were dedicated to giving his granddaughter, who happens to be a cryptologist, clues or directions in the form of codes and riddles to the ultimate location and truth of the Grail.
So if you’re looking for something to do for the rest of the summer, definitely pick up this book. It wouldn’t take you long to finish. All in all, it took me about 9-11 hours to finish all 400 some pages. But this book definitely goes by quality and not quantity.
i too will look into it. but thor you have to look into Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, great book but i cant tell you what its about, cuause if i do it gives the whole book away. If you got a bookstore near you just go in, find it, and start reading it, its slow at first but it gets really good really fast, you’ll like it.
