I 'd say flashkit forum is also unfriendly. They started insulting and making fun of india right from the secong post, like how many cows roam around in the streets, how many self made cars…I seriously dont understand why ppl think that india is such a backward country, but o well it was my first and last thread there. I love it here:love:
Well india is far from a forward country. They have their faults, and big ones. But it doesn’t keep the culture or the people in it from being any less pretty

Television - what fun is there in covering the good points of life when you can make yourself feel better around the world at the misfortune of about 15% of the country’s population instead? There are a lot of good and bad points about India, but most of the coverage is too focused on the negative - but that’s ok
Alabama gets a bad rep also fj. Brb - a wild goat ran right through the barn from where I am posting.
a wild goat ran right through the barn from where I am posting. hahahahahahah, nice one kirupa and yea senocular i agree and never ones i said tht india is developed like u guys, still theres a lot to be proud of as things are better and really good in cities(sply delhi and bombay), i doubt anyone wud feel unhappy living my life, but i guess it’s same for ppl like me allover the world, is’nt it? may b from my point of view things are great, in general things are bad, but not that bad as our indian telivision shows to other countries(u think loans from world bank has to do wid it?? hehe) we dont have cows running allover the streets, we dont have self constructed cars, there’s not a single brand wich is not available in india. It’s only when u reach here u ll feel the difference from tht notion media has developed… take my word for it =)
Well Flasher, the problem is - many of the problems are centered in the rural areas where you and I will probably never get a chance to visit in our day-to-day lives there. If you were to get to one the top-metros, you can have a relatively comfortable life that you will find anywhere around the world as long as you have a job and a good education.
Always, the metros in any developing country will be far ahead of the rural areas. Give or take 10-15 years for the rural areas to be caught up. I mean, the problem was that after independence we went the Soviet route and nationalized most of our industries. It took us almost 50 years to start to slowly get rid of those socialist notions and get into a market-driven mindset, so give it some time. Change in a democracy in place with a billion people always takes time
I mean, 15% poverty rate is normal for most countries…enviable even in many of the larger nations. Now, 15% of 1 billion people, and that’s where the problem lies haha.
True kirupa, very true, i agree.I have bin to places like these.Wud u believe there are places where we cannot take our cars, ppl who has never seen anything that uses petrol and not an animal.Highways are 10 ft wide… u can imagine.
U r right about screwing up the policies, but it workd for politicians. We went the wrong way, mixed economy sucks, i mean here private sector try to make plans to really change everything and public sector comes up wid screwed up policies and show whoz the boss.
Just curious kirupa, when was the last time u came to india, any plans to come here in future ,to delhi??
